Ekra Glacier Lagoon - Gerdi

Enjoyed the expansive views from the wooden deck with a perfect spot for relaxation. The comfortable bed made it easy to unwind after a day's adventures. Having a kettle in the room for tea and coffee was a nice touch. The access road posed a significant challenge, being quite rough and snowy, made arrival difficult. It required local assistance just to reach the hotel. The absence of breakfast options was disappointing. Having at least a yogurt or snack available would have been helpful for late arrivals. Lastly, the lack of a shoes-off policy inside the room was a bit inconvenient given the winter conditions. It would enhance the experience greatly.

The views from the room were fine, showcasing the nearby lagoon and icy peaks of Vatnajökull, perfect for capturing amazing photos. The room itself was cozy and warm, ideal for a winter stay after a day spent exploring the amazing landscapes.

Accessing the hotel was a challenge. The access road was nearly impassable, even for a 4-wheel drive, leaving us reliant on local help just to reach the place. Our room was on the top floor and felt cramped, with the bathroom sink stained yellow. We also faced a bizarre issue with our shower, which seemed to have water issues while other fixtures worked fine was good. Lastly, we found a lack of storage optionsfor luggage-no closet or luggage rack made it tough to manage winter gear effectively.

Comfortable and pleasant place with free parking, so don't hesitate to come here by car. The location is incredible and stunning, next to the glacier...

The rooms are impeccably clean and beautifully designed with very comfy beds and smoke detectors. They have central heating, coffee/tea making facilities, and a TV. The hotel's location is stunning and incredible, just next door to a hillside overlooking the Glacier Lagoon and mountains and waterfalls.

It is an inviting retreat with fine views of the glacier and heated bathroom floors, and a cozy atmosphere for relaxation.

Loved my 1 night stay. All of the staff were helpful and amazing. The room was spotless & new-fashioned with a view. The facilities such as central heating, multi-channel TV and a refrigerator were available.

Great for groups seeking adventure

Rooms were nice and luxurious, not a huge room but cozy enough to enjoy! The view from our place was something else, I could see the lagoon from the window, perfect spots for killer photos.

The location of ekra glacier lagoon is amazing, just a short drive to vatnajökull glacier. We enjoyed the simplicity of our twin room and the clear instructions from the owner. We loved that we could see the northern lights at night.

Mind you, bring snacks. Dining options are as scarce as a unicorn around here! A shoe rack could've prevented my poor floors from looking like winter wonderland trails.
